How the idea of UEX was born?
I spent my childhood in Singapore and I’ve always wanted to come back here at one point. I studied in Europe and became an insurer. With that expertise and my years in Singapore in mind, I figured out that there was a great opportunity to make a difference in the local health insurance market. Do you know that today, more than 80% of foreigners have a local contract in Singapore? As a consequence, the access to healthcare has become more complicated for non-Singaporeans et non-residents, whereas health is one of the key priorities for expats away from home. We had the expertise and the local knowledge to answer those needs of cover (total or partial – with the famous “top-up”), the needs of information (through articles, posts, speeches at expats associations…), the needs of trust (we only hire super nice advisors who actually live in Singapore) and the needs of simplicity (a paperless and kid-easy subscription process). Our offer is for all Singapore-based expats and SMEs.
How does UEX work? How is the health insurance experience different for end users?
Our mission is first to perfectly understand our customers and then to help them with the right information, the right product, the right service. In order to be able to do that, the UEX team is working a lot to know the healthcare habits of expats in Singapore: their needs and wishes, their preferred hospitals, their most common health conditions, their professional and personal situations, etc.
This is when our technology comes into play. By using UEX application, the customer will be able to personalize a health insurance and price, for him/her and family member, in just a few clicks. To adjust to what he/she needs – not more, not less. And because UEX technology is dynamic (it picks up in our negotiated insurance products, mostly provided by AXA), the user will also see the price that will change in real time. Transparency is back!

We wanted to combine our two pillars: YOU (we only exist through customer-centrism!) and EXPERIENCE (as we let and ease the freedom of movement of our customers). We’ve extended the concept: UEX-perience, UEX-plore, UEX-change… UEX-tra!
